Hi, I’m Heather! I created this site in 2008 to help my friends. I was a CLASS Case manager from 2005-2023 and I made this website so I could send info in writing after I shared a resource in person.

Over the years, I’ve added each thing I learned about as a case manager and also a special needs mom of two children with Down syndrome that feels important to share.

• Ways to Personal/attendant care:
  1. Get on the Medicaid Waiver Interest lists
  2. If you are already on Medicaid, check out Community First Choice. (No waiting list!)
  3. If your child is medically-fragile, skip the MDCP Interest list by requesting Rider 28.
  4. If you are over 21 years, contact Star+Plus Waiver to request long-term care services. (No waiting list!)
  5. Reach out to your local IDD authority for resources without waiting lists!
