Medically Dependent Childrens Program
Who is eligible:
- Age: up to age 21 yrs old
- Qualifications:
- Medical necessity determination for nursing facility care – More info
Unique features:
- Personal care component: Referred to as “Respite” – may be provided by attendant OR nurse
- Adjunct Support Services: Specific direct care needed by a person to participate in child care, post-secondary education or independent living during the time the caregiver is at work, attending job training or attending school.
- Age criteria: Ends at age 21.
- Roll-over: Clients aging out of MDCP are automatically put in Star-Plus waiver
