Youth Empowerment Services Waiver

Who is eligible:

• Age: Between 3 yrs to 18 yrs old
• Qualifications:
  • Have serious functional impairment or acute severe psychiatric symptoms as indicated by:
    • Risk of Self-Harm
    • Disruptive or Aggressive Behavior
    • Lack of Family Resources
    • School Behavior
    • Current Psychiatric Diagnosis
  • Expectation that child would qualify of inpatient care

Unique features:

• Living arrangements: Personal home (family or own)
• Community Living Supports (CLS) – skill training & services to promote communication, reinforce skills, integrate into community activities
• Family Supports – support for primary caregiver
• Therapeutic Peer Supports – fees for specialized groups to deal with issues or improve socialization
• Specialized Therapies:
  • Art Therapy
  • Music Therapy
  • Animal-assisted Therapy
  • Recreational Therapy
  • Nutritional Counseling
